Our client is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join their team in Auckland CBD for a 6-month inital contract. This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to support current processes with spreadsheet managment during a busy period. The successful candidate will be instrumental in improving spreadsheet management, automating processes, and implementing best practice data analysis solutions. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects within the financial services industry.
What you'll do:
Address risks in spreadsheet management, including automated back-ups of key spreadsheets, consistent formatting, best practice code, clear file management system, checks of any changes, process/procedure support documentation
Create tables for the Cashflows spreadsheet in a data warehouse
Automate filing
Deliver training/capability uplift for team to ensure spreadsheet infrastructure can be supported and maintained
What you bring:
Expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including VBA, Power Query, and Pivot Tables.
Proficient in SQL and Python, with significant experience in data analysis and automation.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
Deep understanding of spreadsheet best practices, emphasizing risk management and maintaining data integrity.
Skilled in using version control systems and collaborative platforms like SharePoint.
Proven track record of identifying inefficiencies and designing effective automation solutions.
Experienced in documenting processes and creating streamlined workflows.
Strong ability to engage stakeholders, gather requirements, and provide clear, regular updates.
Adept at developing training materials and upskilling team members through clear documentation and instruction.
Capable of analyzing complex processes and recommending logical, scalable improvements.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement, error reduction, and operational efficiency.
Hands-on experience with user acceptance testing.
Knowledgeable about financial markets, including end-of-day reporting, currency-related challenges, and financial instruments.
