What you'll do: As a Principal Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in providing financial accounting advice, services, and reporting across tax and social policy. You will lead data preparation for valuations while preparing Treasury and internal reporting. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying trends and financial risks. You will also have the opportunity to mentor team members, contributing significantly to their professional growth. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders such as the Treasury, internal business owners, valuers, and auditors will be part of your daily responsibilities.
Provide financial accounting advice, services, and reporting across tax and social policy
Lead data preparation for valuations, prepare Treasury and internal reporting, baseline update and appropriation processes
Become a subject matter expert for our data, systems, and frameworks
Identify and analyse trends and financial risks
Lead the mentoring and coaching of team members to contribute to the development of their capability and technical expertise
Work with a range of customers including the Treasury, internal business owners, valuers, and auditors
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Principal Financial Accountant position is someone looking to further enhance their knowledge, develop their experience, and progress within the team. You bring excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus. Your strong data analysis skills enable you to turn data into actionable insights. With your ability to mentor others, you can build capability and technical expertise within your team. Your sound planning and organisational skills allow you to work effectively under deadlines. A minimum of 8 years accounting experience along with Chartered Accountant qualification or its equivalent recognised by CAANZ is required.
