We are seeking an experienced Stormwater Technician to maintain, operate, service and upgrade the stormwater network in North Canterbury. This is a vital role to minimise flood risks in the region by ensuring the stormwater network is operating optimally.
As part of this role, you will be performing a range of maintenance activities on a daily basis, including operating earthmoving equipment to repair and install drains, pipes, and stablise river banks, etc. In addition, you will be performing water and soil sampling regularly to ensure the health of the network. Overall, you will play a key part in forming the region's water infrastructure planning and strategy for the future from a field's perspective.
To be successful, you will need to be an experienced operator or technician from the civil construction industry, and have the required licences for operating tracks and rollers. You will be need to have the flexibility to respond during emergencies and disasters.
In summary, the requirements are,
Practical experience working in civil construction/ stormwater
Current Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements
Able to respond to emergencies when required
Able to perform manual work
Analytical and computer savvy
Customer service skills
Health and safety conscious
