We are seeking talented and creative Design Interns to join the creative team at ZURU Edge. There are opportunities available in our Content Design teams and New Product Development design teams, depending on the strengths and interests of each candidate. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment working on global brands. As a Design Intern, you will collaborate with our design team to create visually compelling designs for various projects.
What You'll Bring
- An understanding of graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and Figma)
- Creativity and a strong eye for design, layout, and typography
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively and follow instructions
- Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Basic knowledge of design principles and best practice
- Great attention to detail, file management, and timeliness with tasks; ability to self-manage with strong problem-solving skill
- Illustration skills are an added advantage
Roles & Responsibilities
- Graphic Design: Assist the design team in creating visually appealing graphics and materials for a wide range of projects, including:
o Digital, social and marketing content
o Brand identity and packaging design
o Design digital assets including social tiles, Instagram stories, animations, and video
o Produce printed design assets for retail and advertising
o Design presentations using Figma
o Other tasks management may deem appropriate from time to time
- Conceptualisation: Work closely with team members to brainstorm and develop design concepts and ideas for various projects
- Software Proficiency: Gain proficiency in industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and Figma) to create and edit design assets
- Typography and Layout: Work closely with the team and take direction from design leads to deliver diverse, unique and best-in-class design that meet objectives of all set tasks. Maintain an eye for detail and high quality across all areas of design
- Image Editing: Edit and retouch images to enhance their quality and suitability for specific projects
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver designs that align with the company's objectives
- File Management: Organise and maintain design files and assets to ensure easy accessibility for team members
- Feedback Incorporation: Be open to feedback and make revisions as required to meet project specifications and improve design quality
- Time Management: Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, ensuring timely delivery of design assets. Understanding project requirements and briefs, turning these around in an efficient manner to meet set deadlines
- Research and Trends: Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to design projects.
