Our client, a key government agency, is on a mission to strengthen its cyber defences . As a Security Technical Consultant, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping security strategies, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring the resilience of critical systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead security implementation – Direct engineers and operational teams to deploy device, OS, and identity controls.
- Remove roadblocks – Identify technical challenges and create solutions that enable secure and efficient implementation.
- Engage with stakeholders – Communicate the importance of security controls and demonstrate their value in protecting national systems.
- Build smart reporting – Use Kusto Query Language, Log Analytics, Sentinel, Logic Apps, and Power BI to simplify security insights.
- Future-proof security – Research and introduce new security controls, ensuring the organisation stays ahead of evolving threats.
What You’ll Bring
- Deep technical expertise in device security (Windows, Linux, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint).
- Strong knowledge of identity security (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Defender for Identity).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and secure system architectures.
- Familiarity with Git, Azure fundamentals, and Kusto Query Language.
- Ability to translate technical insights into real-world security solutions.
- Experience working with Security Operations Centers (SOC), and CSIRT teams.
- Strong knowledge of threat intelligence, attack detection techniques, and incident response frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, NIST 800-61).
- Experience with Zero Trust principles and identity-based security controls (Conditional Access, Just-In-Time Access, Privileged Identity Management).
- Ability to translate complex security risks into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers in security best practices.
