The menu combines Nikkei-influenced dishes and modern Japanese with an emphasis on the fun and the interesting. Azabu is an unassuming spot behind tinted windows in a quiet section of Ponsonby quietly winning awards and creating devotees.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Chef de Partie ideally with 2 years experience in a comparable role, experience in Japanese cuisine is a must, strong communication and work ethic, the ability to maintain and manage the appointed kitchen section, a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

In Chef de Partie role you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing sushi and sashimi - experience with this is a must
  • The operation of your appointed kitchen section
  • Quality execution of all food offerings
  • Contributing to the overall customer experience
  • Assisting in the execution of stock management including, ordering, receipting, storing, rotation, portion control and wastage
  • Meeting and exceeding Savor standards of quality and consistency
  • Adhering to health and safety, food control plan, and company policies
  • Guiding junior staff members
  • Adhering to tasks as requested by the Head Chef and senior team members
