Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for 2x Part Time General Practitioners (GP) to provide competent, patient-centred primary care within a fun, flexible and well-paced team.

Our clinics specifically support our students, so they are not open to the general public. We are a team of 11 Doctors supported by a dedicated nursing team and administrators. Our main clinic is on Symonds Street in Auckland’s CBD, and we have a smaller clinic in Grafton. The majority of the team are based in our Symonds Street clinic, but there may be an option to be based in Grafton.

You will report to the Medical Lead and work closely with the counselling and nursing teams to ensure the delivery of our holistic and integrated services. This will be an ideal role for a GP who has a particular interest in mental and sexual health, and the support of young adults.

We have flexibility on the number of days we can offer, but we are looking for this role to be Part Time, 3 to 5 days a week split over 7.5 hour days.
We are open to considering a variety of GPs at different stages of their careers, our current preference is for you to have achieved Fellowship.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Ideally, we are looking for a General Practitioner with experience of working in a multidisciplinary health setting with proven clinical experience with young adults and diverse communities. This would include experience with health screening and healthy lifestyle interventions.

You will stand out if you have highly developed interpersonal skills and enjoy providing medical guidance to a range of patients usually of a younger demographic. You will be confident in your ability to respond appropriately and calmly in high pressure situations and be diligent with your follow ups and paperwork.

Due to our diverse student population, we are also interested to know of any language skills you may have.

E rapua ana mātou | We are seeking

  • A registered doctor within New Zealand, who holds a current NZMC Practising Certificate and indemnity insurance.
  • Member or Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs (or practising under General Scope with appropriate supervision).
  • A minimum of 2 years of General Practice experience, preferably as a GP Registrar in primary care and/or emergency care.
