Job Description
BM Workshop is the largest independent repairer of BMW’s in New Zealand, with each Workshop being independently owned and operated. This vacancy is for additional Technician to be based in our East Tamaki Workshop.
Our workshop is very well set up with state-of-the-art engineering and diagnostic equipment, and all our staff are very focussed on providing the absolute best in customer service and satisfaction.
Our ideal candidate would be a technician who have had experience in the diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repair of BMW cars, ideally 3 years’ experience, but we also expect that the appointed technician will easily gel into our friendly, close-knit and dedicated team.
If you have no BMW specific experience, but are an experienced and skilled Automotive Technician, and you are interested, then please send us your CV. Of course, we’d love some BMW experience, but the appointed technician must also be hardworking and enthusiastic, and have the desire to take advantage of learning new skills.
The position is full time (usually 40 hours per week) and permanent. Business hours we Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm and Technicians’ usual hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7.30/8.00am to 4/4.30pm. Hourly wage range is between $32.00-$45.00/hour depending on the work experience and/or qualifications/training.
Your duties and responsibilities will include the following and more:
- Vehicle diagnostic and repair work using appropriate equipment
- Installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic components in vehicles
- Servicing and repair of vehicles
- Dismantling, removing and replacing parts or components in vehicles
- Installing, testing, replacing or connecting components or accessories
- Adjusting engine control systems
- Learning about new car models, components, parts, accessories etc.
Ideally, potential candidates will also possess the following:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity and/or experience with European cars
- Passion for the BMW product
- Be able to follow health and safety measures at work
- Have a positive can-do attitude and drive to succeed
- Be physically fit (able to work) with attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- The ability to work well under pressure in busy workshop
- Excellent communication skills
- Work well in a team environment
- Reliable and keen to turn up for work
