Are you a Hydraulic Hose Technician and have mechanical experience? We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Hose Technician and Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. Based in Ashburton, many of our valued clients are in the agriculture sector and spread throughout Mid-Canterbury. We work both in our workshop and in the field as we repair/diagnose our clients’ machines on-site. Along with this, we specialise in water blaster servicing, assemblies, and manufacturing skid units. Position: Diesel Mechanic + Hydraulic Hose Technician Location: Ashburton Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, assemble, and repair hydraulic hoses and assemblies
Inspect and troubleshoot hydraulic systems for leaks, wear or component failures
Competently operate machinery
Service, diagnose, and repair mechanical componentry, and use diagnostic tools (i.e: tractors, tractor implements, telehandlers, articulated trucks, diggers, and small landscape machinery)
Water blaster + skid unit servicing and manufacturing
Provide excellent customer service, with professional communication to continue providing a high- quality service to our valued clients
Maintain accurate records of all work performed on jobs cards, including materials used and time taken at the job
Requirements:
Relevant trade qualification
Previous hands-on experience with hydraulic hose fabrication, assembly, and repair
Understanding of hydraulic systems, components, and hydraulic fittings
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical equipment
A strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete the job in a timely manner
Good verbal and written communication skills
Physically fit and self-motivated
Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the company
To be reliable and punctual
Valid and clean NZ driver’s license + NZ work visa
