Take Your Planning Career to the Next Level - Intermediate Consents Planner

  • Reviewing consent recommendations and providing technical planning support.
  • Supporting RMA-related processes, including hearings and Environment Court proceedings.
  • Contributing to integrated planning solutions and service improvement projects.
  • Collaborating with the Planning Policy team to ensure alignment between policy and consenting processes.
  • Delivering a customer-focused pre-consent lodgement service.


What We're Looking For

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in planning or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience as a consents planner in either local government or the private sector (land use and subdivision).
  • Statutory hearing experience and NZPI membership (or eligibility).
  • Strong understanding of resource management legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to cross-organizational collaboration and integrated planning outcomes.
  • Making Good Decisions Certification is desirable.
