Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role
We are looking for an experienced External Audit Manager to join our Assurance team in Wellington. From our offices at the centre of our vibrant capital city, you will be responsible for working on various external audits with our clients.This is a full-time opportunity, minimum 37.5 hours per week. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing audit engagements across a designated portfolio of clients.
  • Working directly with clients and teams, understanding our clients' needs, ensuring compliance with PwC policies and procedures, assessing risk and helping the team design audit procedures.
  • Becoming an integral part of building trust in society by delivering high quality audits of financial statements.
  • Working collaboratively with other Managers to ensure that all audit engagements are appropriately resourced and staff are well utilised throughout the year.
  • Supervising junior staff, motivating, coaching and mentoring them on audit methodology and best-practice.
  • Using cutting-edge technology to deliver exceptional external audit work.


Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing external audit experience which will ideally come from a globally known professional services firm. We are looking for an experienced external auditor who can bring the following competencies and experience to the role:

  • 5+ years’ work experience as an external auditor for a large, global auditing firm.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in external audit at Manager-level.
  • You must be a member of relevant professional accounting such as, but not limited to, CAANZ, CPA , ACCA or ICAEW.
  • Proven experience leading audit engagements from planning to completion.
  • Proven experience supervising, coaching and leading junior staff members on audit engagements.
  • Experience working with IFRS.
  • A relevant Bachelor's or Master's qualification in accounting or a closely-related subject.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
