You'll be a member of the Core Infrastructure Squad within the Infrastructure Services Platform working to deliver and support a secure, functional and performant ecosystem to our customers. About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior SRE Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work with our backup specialists supporting our existing on-premise solution as well as our capability within Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for building our backup solution within Azure and managing to day to day operations as we continue to migrate our systems to cloud.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Implementation: Develop, implement and automate Azure backup solutions tailored to meet backup and recovery standards.
Management and Monitoring: Oversee the daily operations of backup services, ensuring data integrity, availability, and adherence to recovery objectives, both Azure and on-premises.
Test Recovery: develop Azure backup recovery processes to assist with regular recovery testing to verify backup effectiveness.
Incident Management: Respond to backup and recovery incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize backup processes, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and policies.
Compliance: Ensure all backup processes comply with relevant regulations and organizational standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to integrate backup solutions with existing systems and workflows.

Technical skills

Azure Backup: Expert knowledge of Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other related services.
Cloud Computing: Understanding of cloud computing concepts, specifically within the Azure ecosystem.
Scripting: Proficiency in scripting and IAC such as Terraform or Bicep.
Backup technologies: Experience with backup solutions such as Netbackup or equivalent.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve backup and recovery issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
Teamwork: Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
