Job Description
Winstone Aggregates have some big projects to complete across the country and we are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor (Projects) to lead and support those projects, ensuring sustainable outcomes for our communities and stakeholders.
About the Role
As a senior member of the environmental team, you will enjoy the ability to collaborate, share ideas and offer solutions all while working within a supportive and constructive team environment.
Some travel will be required as the projects cover the whole of NZ.
Key Outputs and Accountabilities
- Environmental Project Management
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans.
- Chair project steering committees and ensure delivery aligns with goals.
- Manage project deliverables, budgets, and performance reporting.
- Oversee scope, change control, and cross-functional issue resolution.
- Provide operational staff with guidance on consenting and compliance matters, leveraging environmental management for competitive advantage.
- Build meaningful relationships with commercial partners, mana whenua, stakeholders, regulators, and customers.
- Foster iwi partnerships and manage key government and council relationships.
- Engage with internal teams and participate in professional networks (NZPI, RMLA).
- Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Prioritize safety and promote a hazard-free environment.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Resource Management Planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' practical experience in an RMA environmental role.
- Sound knowledge of Environmental Legislation, including the Resource Management Act.
- Proven project management skills, with experience leading consultations and delivering results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A proactive and detail-oriented mindset, thriving in team environments.
