We have an exciting opportunity to join the Maintenance Department as a Facilities Assistant based at The Shire’s Rest

The Shire’s Rest is the first arrival point for our visitors and incorporates our reservations, shop, services, head office and staff facilities. This role contributes to maintaining these areas to a high standard, enhancing the experience for both visitors and staff.

To succeed in this position, the ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dedicated to upholding high standards in every aspect of their work.

This physically demanding role involves some heavy lifting and the use of power equipment such as pressure washers, backpack blowers, and house washing tools.

General tasks are to be carried out in all areas of Hobbiton, including The Shire's Rest, HUB, Green Dragon, The Mill and Behind the Scenes.

Key responsibilities include:

• daily management of our rubbish bins, cardboard, recycling & compost bins
• leaf collection
• cleaning buildings
• grass edging
• mowing
• some gardening work.

This is a full-time role with one weekend day required plus early morning starts. Some previous experience in building cleaning and ground maintenance would be an advantage but training will be provided to the right person. A full clean driver's license and reliable transport is essential.
