Job Description
Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning, and whole-of-life support and optimisation.
We are currently seeking a Water Serviceperson to join our busy team in supporting the Southland/Invercargill region. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the water industry and be able to handle a wide range of jobs and projects to maintain the water networks. The main purpose of this position is to carry out operations and maintenance tasks, as well as respond to faults in the Invercargill City Water networks.
Your duties could include:
- Routine and planned preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs on water assets such as water pipes & mains
- A hands-on role in completing work safely and meeting our client and the needs of the contract
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
You will have a great attitude, reliable and hardworking and will bring with you:
- A nationally recognized qualification in Water Reticulation, or similar industry
- Driver’s license; Minimum Class 1 + Class 2 & RTW an advantage
- Confined spaces and hazard awareness training would be beneficial
- Knowledge and experience in urban and rural water reticulation system maintenance
