The Company
My client is a privately owned global company with operations spanning a number of regions across the world. The Head office is based in Sydney and with significant operations in NZ, this head of Finance role has been created in NZ to serve the business in NZ. This organisation has multiple entities with numerous business units across the country. With changes ahead, the MD is driving operational excellence across the business and strives for this business to being operational optimally and efficiently and therefore is looking for an individual with the same drive and vision.
The Role
The role of Head of Finance will partner with the Board, leadership team and functional management and will lead Finance across the organisation to ensure excellent financial stewardship. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, directing and managing all accounting operational functions for head office and all the business units
- Oversee the financial reporting, budgeting and internal control functions
- Ensure the annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements are met
- Manage any business risks as and when required
- Manage and develop an offshore and onshore finance team
- Business partner a wide variety of stakeholders both locally and offshore
- Co-ordinate the annual financial planning process
- Lead and implement projects which is likely to include a full system implementation in the future
- Provide KPI measurement and analysis to management and the business
- Maintain the control environment and sure policies, procedures and compliance are maximised
- Support the annual insurance renewal process and ensure any valuations are conducted as necessary
- Other ad hoc duties are required
Your Profile:

- CA (or equivalent) Qualified Accountant
- Strong communication and stakeholder mgmt. experience

- An ability to pivot fast in a dynamic environment
- Someone happy to roll up the sleeves and muck in.
Experience early in your career within a Big 4 audit firm where you can demonstrate professionalism, and a high degree of understanding around compliance, risk and governance will be viewed favourably.
