What You'll Do
As the Finance Manager, you will be ensuring quality financial insights whilst managing a team of 5 accounting professionals of different levels. You’ll empower your team to excel while working closely with business leaders to support performance and growth. Key responsibilities include:
Leadership & Team Development: Cultivate a high-performing finance team, inspiring a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Streamlining & Optimization: Review and refine financial processes and systems, driving efficiency and identifying automation opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of monthly results, ensuring accuracy and insight-driven outcomes.
Asset & Tax Management: Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure full compliance with NZ tax regulations.
Commercial & Management Accounting: Provide timely, accurate reporting to inform strategic decisions.
Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with leaders, contributing to financial planning and performance reviews.
What You’ll Bring:
To succeed in this role, you’ll be a motivated and methodical & technical professional with a proven track record of process improvements and driving those around you to succeed. Your qualifications and experience will include: Professional Expertise: Chartered Accountant qualification with 3–5 years of commercial experience in financial and management accounting OR a manager level in the BIG4 public practice space looking for their first management role in commercial.
Technical Strength: Deep knowledge of NZ accounting and tax legislation, with demonstrated consolidation experience.
Leadership Skills: Experience leading teams and fostering professional development.
Attention to Detail: A structured, results-driven approach to tasks, with a knack for identifying opportunities for improvement.
Strong Communication: The ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders across all levels.
