Te Tūranga | The role:

As the Head of Programme Compliance in our Personal Banking division, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of ASB's compliance and transformation programmes and play a key role on the Personal Banking Risk Leadership Team. You will influence ASB's strategic compliance and transformation programmes, ensuring compliance outcomes are delivered safely and in line with our strategy. Your team will provide technical compliance expertise to priority change programmes impacting Personal Banking, ensuring they align with regulatory requirements and deliver sustainable results. and support and provide compliance advice across our various Personal Banking teams. Your role includes leading regulatory engagement, responding to regulator requests, and enhancing compliance monitoring and reporting to senior leadership. This position is pivotal in embedding compliance into ASB's transformation journey, ensuring enduring regulatory adherence and customer trust.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven ability to think strategically, including developing a vision, defining required priorities and actions to achieve this vision, and delivering it.
  • 10 years+ experience at financial services organisations acting at a senior level.
  • Experience in risk management and compliance, specifically Financial Crime Compliance and CCCFA would be preferred.
  • Experience building and leading successful teams and driving positive behavioural changes across different areas.
  • Collaborative leadership style with ability to take stakeholders on a journey and effectively influence outcomes.
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead with an agile approach and growth mindset.
  • Outcomes orientated, confidence to challenge the status quo and promote better customer outcomes.
