We are seeking a motivated individual to lead our payroll team to greatness. If you have a passion for leadership and a drive to excel, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Your key focus will be on supporting and developing our payroll team of 17 staff, while also providing seamless client engagement and a conduit between our internal teams and the payroll team.

This role is based in Invercargill, but for the right candidate, we're open to applications from across the country. If you're passionate and driven, we want to hear from you, no matter where you're located!

You will report to our National Director Payroll Services and lead a team of Payroll Officers, both locally and nationally. If you enjoy a busy role where no day is the same - keep reading!

PLEASE NOTE: This position is about leading and managing a team, although payroll experience would be desirable and advantageous, it is not necessary to be a successful candidate.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WEEK LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

  • Building client relationships and refining our onboarding process
  • Managing the day-to-day requirements in relation to workflow, payroll processing, pay reviews and banking.
  • Mentor, train and develop the payroll team
  • Ensuring payroll controls and compliance are effective, efficient, and used appropriately to mitigate risk.
  • Actively participating in new and ongoing projects
  • Engaging with external partners as required in relation to payroll reporting and filing requirements.
  • Drive retention by empowering and nurturing team members to develop their capability and deliver exceptional performance.
  • Look for opportunities to value add to clients’ scope of work with the firm and deepen external networks, developing business and raising the Findex profile.

We are looking for a skilled Manager to lead our large and sometimes complex payroll function. You will be process oriented, analytical and have excellent attention to detail. You will be comfortable working independently and taking accountability for leading the payroll team. You will also:

  • Aptitude for identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
