Our Retail Operations and Transformation team maintain a strong focus on SAP support, in-store operations, and checkouts across all three retail banners. Monitoring a range of important metrics, the team are also involved in new store openings, ownership changes, and various business initiatives.
Te Tūranga – About the role
As a Retail Fraud Analyst, you’ll be responsible for identifying, analysing, and reporting fraud using operational insights to proactively identify solutions that enable positive business outcomes. You’ll also coach stores and engage with the wider team to ensure consistent support plans across Foodstuffs North Island are delivered in a centralised and automated manner.
To do this, you’ll:
· Work closely with the centralised team to provide shared collaborative services to member stores and will support a culture of high performance and communication with stores and other business units.
· Work with stores and key stakeholders to ensure best practice and continuous improvement across process to reduce friction for customers and improve the cost of doing business for stores.
· Monitor and analyse transaction data to detect unusual or suspicious activity.
· Identify patterns or trends indicative of fraud, including card fraud, return fraud, or identity theft.
· Coordinate with internal teams, such as customer service, legal, or security, to gather information and evidence.
· Stay up to date with the latest fraud schemes, trends, and technological advances.

He kōrero mōu - About you
To nail this role you’ll have proven experience working on diverse projects and engaging with large stakeholder groups. As a confident communicator you’ll be skilled in creating communication plans.
You’ll also have:
· Proficiency in using data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau) to analyse and visualize data advantageous.
· Experience collaborating with Agile IT teams would be advantageous
· Ability to analyse large sets of transactional data to identify trends, anomalies, and fraud patterns.
· Strong attention to detail for detecting discrepancies or suspicious behaviour in transactions and reports.
· Strong report writing skills to summarize findings and provide actionable insights, ability to create and maintain dashboards and performance metrics.
