Job Description
TAB NZ is establishing their future operating model, focusing on key areas such as stakeholder engagement, financial management, and compliance. They are looking for a Management Accountant to join their team in Wellington. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for securing and delivering vital funding for racing and sport in New Zealand.
What you'll do:
As a Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the financial health of TAB NZ operations. You will be responsible for ongoing accounting tasks including recording, coding, payments, reconciliation, and preparation of monthly reporting packs. Your excellent organisational skills will come into play as you manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Reporting into the Senior Advisor, Finance you’ll be involved in supporting project work on financial analysis, budget process, treasury and other projects as directed by senior management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting expertise within a dynamic and supportive team.
- Recording, coding and payments of all invoices and Gaming grants.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts ensuring the Gaming funds received are in the correct accounts.
- Recording of all accruals and journals in preparation for the month end accounts.
- Preparation of monthly reporting pack together with analysis of any variances.
- Support preparation of supporting working papers as required by TAB NZ auditors.
- Ensure accounting queries are answered promptly or assist engaging specialist advice where needed.
- Support project work on financial statements, analysis, budget process, treasury and other projects as directed in line with accounting standards (IFRS)
- Preparation, of all IRD compliance requirements: accurate and timely filing of returns and payment of tax for TAB NZ for all tax types.
What you bring:
- Accounting degree or qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven competency in supporting ongoing accounting obligations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
- Organised, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Flexible, adaptable and reliable.
