Position Overview:
As an Aluminium Installer at our clients Dunedin facility, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of aluminium products. Your role will ensure the production of high-quality window systems that meet and exceed customer expectations, all while upholding their 'safety first' culture and adhering to their Health and Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:

  • Exemplify their core values in all team interactions.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of aluminium products for both residential and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with building codes.
  • Handle the production processing of aluminium products as needed.
  • Achieve production goals and deadlines.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on plant equipment and vehicles, ensuring compliance with COF and RUC requirements.


Assist with problem-solving and provide necessary support.
Planning:

  • Communicate regularly with the Supervisor/Manager about client order progress to plan timely installations and maintenance.
  • Update the Supervisor/Manager on job orders, missing products, and coordinate product delivery times.
  • Conduct regular back costing to ensure job costing accuracy and address potential issues proactively.


Relationship Management:

  • Foster clear communication within the team involved in customer orders.
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with suppliers, industry contacts, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Represent our clients brand by adhering to company apparel standards and promoting company values.
  • Share expertise, support team efforts, and assist in other business areas, including on-site as needed.


Health & Safety:

  • Demonstrate visible leadership in safety and support the development of a 'safety first' culture.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety management systems, with a focus on protecting employees during operations.
  • Contribute to the Health and Safety risk management framework by identifying hazards and implementing controls to minimize risk.
  • Proactively address safety issues and challenge unsafe practices.
  • Follow company policies regarding Health and Safety, including reporting accidents, incidents, and hazards.
  • Stay informed about health and safety legislation and ensure compliance.
  • Utilize Health and Safety Management software to enhance risk management and internal processes.
  • Implement annual health and safety plans and oversee tasks outlined in the Annual Review Schedule.
  • Support risk assessments, audits, and investigations, and participate in safety meetings and procedures.


General:

  • Uphold the high professional standards and image of our client.
  • Provide regular reports to management as required.
  • Assist with delivery and loading tasks, site installations, and provide site advice.
  • Support quoting for installation work as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as requested within your experience and capabilities by your Manager or Supervisor.


Person Specification:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Previous experience in the building industry, aluminium joinery, fabrication, or engineering role, preferably 3+ years.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and workshop manuals to determine machining requirements.
