Are you a motivated Junior Planner with 2 years of experience looking to grow your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? An Auckland-based consultancy is seeking a talented individual to join their team and work on a diverse range of projects across the planning and development sector.

About them They are a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across planning, urban development, and environmental sectors. Their team collaborates on a variety of projects, providing expert advice to clients in both the public and private sectors.

The Role As a Junior Planner, you will support senior team members in preparing planning reports, assessing resource consents, and engaging with clients and stakeholders. You will gain exposure to a range of projects, from urban development and infrastructure to environmental planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of resource consent applications and planning assessments
  • Conducting research and analysis on planning policies and regulations
  • Supporting client engagement and stakeholder consultation processes
  • Collaborating with a team of planners, engineers, and environmental specialists
  • Staying up to date with relevant planning legislation and policies


About You To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in planning, environmental science, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in a planning role, preferably within New Zealand
  • A solid understanding of the Resource Management Act (RMA) and planning frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced professionals
