Mō te Tūranga | About the role:

Due to internal movements and need analysis within our Credit Risk Management Insights Analytics team, we now have new opportunities for two Senior Manager Retail Analytics across different portfolios:

  • Consumer Finance & Collections (Credit Cards, Personal Loans & Personal Overdrafts)
  • Home Lending & SME


Reporting to our Insights Lead you will support the business in its strategic planning by providing and uplifting regular management information, insights, and analytics on actual and expected credit risk outcomes.

We are looking for a strong leader who can hit the ground running to continue developing an effective, high-performing team of analysts. You will foster a work environment where open communication, coaching and opportunities enable your people to develop further.

Relationship and stakeholder management is a vital aspect of the role, that will see you uncover and anticipate stakeholders' likely requirements for the future and maintain a roadmap to get there. This strategic planning while providing subject matter expertise will support further optimisation of credit risk strategy.

Ka noho haepapa koe mō | You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring credit risk within the Home Lending / Consumer Finance & Collections portfolio is managed within the bank's risk appetite, from origination to collections.
  • Concise and insightful interpretation of information and analysis associated to project delivery/prioritisation, and BAU growth objectives.
  • Delivering accurate and insightful reporting to an executive and regulatory audience.
  • Delivery of timely management information to key stakeholders, including appropriate commentary with context for an Executive audience.
  • Management and continual optimisation of the retail bank's credit origination strategy in line with business risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

Ō pūkenga | About you:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics or related field required.
  • Strong management and analytical skills with good business acumen.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience from within a Credit Risk Management area.
  • Strong background in data and the regulatory landscape related to Credit Risk.
  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to explain technical/credit topics to others.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of subject matter experts/analysts.
  • Exposure to the rigors and requirements of working in a regulated industry.
