We are looking for a positive, energetic, and reliable Food Service Coordinator to join our team at Palmerston North Hospital. This is a full-time position for a fixed term period of approximately 9 months starting in April 2025.
Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Establish effective communication links between all internal support functions, clients, and customers;
- Achieve increases in customer satisfaction levels or increased patronage where standards and brands are applied;
- Support the Foodservice Manager with the management of the day-to-day operations of all Food Services within the hospital;
- Preside over food service employees, including cooks and menu processors;
- Assist Food Service Manager to achieve the target profits, prevent shrinkage, labour costs and that budgeted costs are not exceeded, and ensure all current legislation is adhered to;
- Regularly review service standards to ensure an effective flow of service;
- Ensure all systems and procedures with regard to Health and Safety and Food Safety are maintained at all times throughout the year including management of Vault, SafeFoodPro, and Saffron processes at the site level;

Your Skills and experience will include:
- As our ideal candidate you will be a Dietitian with practical experience or a Qualification in Human Nutrition or related field
- Team player and able to work autonomously;
- Previous experience in a catering environment;
- Flexible approach and attitude;
- Good communication skills and Hard-working;
- A NZQA food service qualification would be a distinct advantage
- Preferably you will have knowledge of dietary requirements in a Healthcare context and HACCP
- Experience in managing systems such SafeFoodPro or Electronic Menu Management systems are desirable.
