The NZ Police Finance function provides several critical services required to enable the success of our organisation. This ranges from ensuring our staff and suppliers are paid, to ensuring compliance with public sector legislation, standards, and expectations, maintaining a “licence to operate” and providing strategic and practical financial advice to decision makers to ensure we operate within our budgets and deliver value for money.



We are seeking Finance Support Coordinators who enjoy working in an exciting work environment, have excellent customer service skills, and who can develop relationships with internal / external customers who use our services. The position reports directly to the Manager: Financial Processing, although will work closely with the Financial Processing team.



Coordinators need to be innovative and be able to continuously improve their outputs in order to add greater value to the service provided to our customers, while ensuring our internal checks and controls are adhered to.



As a Coordinator in the Finance group, they will be responsible for a portfolio of internal customers, assisting with their queries and supporting them to be as self-sufficient as possible.





Key Accountabilities:


  • Provide excellent customer service and proactive resolutions for Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivables queries
  • Strong relationship management and act as a liaison between customers and Finance portfolios.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, conduct invoice resolution and clearing.
  • Manage accounts payable & accounts receivable payments, and conduct dispute resolutions and corrections
  • Conduct accounts receivable reconciliations and debt recovery.

To be successful in this role you will require the following:

  • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable experience is essential – a minimum of 2 years working with these is essential.
  • Experience with financial management system – SAP – is preferred.
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to solve problems for customers in a professional manner.
  • A proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal staff and external partner organisations.
  • A proactive, continuous improvement mindset to your own work and in supporting the wider team.

Utu ā-tau | Salary



This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $69,337 and $72,430 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
