This position focuses on the maintenance of substation assets as an important part of Works Programme providing innovative and collaborative services that ensure a reliable and resilient electricity supply network, resulting in a positive experience for both internal and external customers.

  • Three years’ experience in the distribution network environment – knowledge of the WEL distribution network would be an advantage
  • A proven commitment to safety in your work
  • Knowledge of Safety in Design and delivery principles for distribution networks
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and general computer literacy

At WEL, we look after our people – from full medical, life and income protection insurance cover, and a variety of flexible working options, to the safest equipment and plenty of upskilling opportunities. We will also help you with relocation expenses when moving into the Waikato.

We are committed to making sure our people go home safe every day, and with a drug and alcohol-free worksite we will require you to undertake testing as part of your pre-employment health assessment as well as participating in our annual health assessment programme.
