The purpose of the Solutions, Planning and Learning function within the Global HSW team is to enable the Co-op to continually improve health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) outcomes globally through clear strategy, human-centred solutions to complex system-wide issues, learning from unexpected events, and monitoring and insights weighted towards critical HSW systems and critical risk management efforts.
About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi
As the Insights Analyst you will provide data-driven insights and analytics to support the Global HSW group and line leadership functions on trends and insights on organisational performance, events, and emerging trends.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provides support, expertise, and advice across the business group in relation to HSW data products.
- Utilises analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, measure, analyse, interpret, report and present datasets.
- Works with the Global HSW team to interpret data and information to enable the effective reporting of insights,
- Champions the building of collaborative inter-disciplinary relationships across the business group.
- Leverages data models to help address complex business challenges.
- Creates and presents information and insights using data visualisations.
About you | Ko wai koe
To be successful in this role you will be confident in your ability to translate data conclusions into actionable recommendations and communicate the insights to various audiences at all levels. You will enjoy working with large sets of data and will be a creative, critical, and analytical thinker while working with the data. In addition to this, you will also be an effective communicator both at a written and verbal level and will have the ability to work to very tight deadlines and at times, while working under pressure.
Other key skills:
- Development of end user-based dashboards and insights reports from large, complex, and disparate date models is preferred.
- The ability to translate data conclusions into actionable recommendations and to communicate insights to various audiences.
- Ideally having sound knowledge or practical experience in operations, operational leadership, health and safety or other risk management disciplines.
- Competent in collecting, managing, visualizing, and applying data.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- An effective communicator both verbally and written, demonstrating clear and concise writing skills.
- Analytical knowledge of database structures and designs.
- Strong knowledge of business intelligence systems and advanced data literacy.
Qualifications:
A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in mathematics, computer science and data analysis or organisational performance is preferred.
