THE OPPORTUNITY:

Are you a passionate and experienced journalist eager to make an impact? This is your chance to join NZME’s renowned print team, contributing to high-quality content that shapes public conversation. You’ll be responsible for creating top-notch stories across news, business, sports, and more, ensuring every word counts.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT:

You’ll work collaboratively with the Herald Print Editor and team, generating innovative story ideas, writing compelling features, and ensuring your content hits the mark. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll stay on top of daily and long-form content, delivering error-free, audience-focused articles that set the news agenda. Your expert knowledge of journalism techniques and audience needs will guide you in producing standout stories for the NZ Herald, Weekend Herald and Herald on Sunday.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You’ll bring at least two years’ experience as a journalist, with a deep understanding of news, feature writing, and current events.
  • Whether it’s breaking national stories or creating in-depth analyses, you’ll have a knack for finding unique angles that captivate audiences.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills are essential, and you should thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A relevant qualification and experience working in newsrooms will be highly valued.
