  • Front of house sales role at our market leading shop
  • Fast moving, growing company
  • Join the team at General Marine Services!

General Marine Services is an energetic, customer focused company. We have been supporting the marine industry for over 28 years and are proud of our customer support.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the front of house sales team at our market leading shop in the Westhaven marine precinct.

We are marine fluid handling and systems specialists that deal with local recreational and commercial boat builders, DIY'ers, marine engineer contractors and with the visiting super yacht market.

Your duties would primarily centre around providing outstanding customer services, dealing with our customers that enter our shop or contact us by phone or through our website.

Although it would be helpful to have an interest in the marine industry and some experience in marine systems in general, it would not be essential. The person we're looking for prides themselves on providing outstanding customer services and thrives on going the extra mile.

In general, the ideal candidate would be able to tick all the below:

  • Enthusiasm and a genuine love of the sales role.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, listening and record-keeping skills.
  • Proven versatility and flexibility.
  • Be able to work as an individual using initiative and as a team member.

Some of the other requirements needed for this position are:

  • Clear written and spoken English
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers in verbal and written forms.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft word and Excel.

So, if the prospect of working in a fast moving, growing company inspires you, obtaining a broad range of skills through experience and training across sales and marine systems and you believe you have what it takes, then submit your CV now.

The successful candidate must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
