A position has become available based out of our Mt Wellington premises to work in our Pest Plant team . In this role you will work across Auckland city’s Parks managing and controlling pest plants in Bush ,revegetation areas and reserves .
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who experience in pest plant control, the person would have good pest plant knowledge, weed management experience and an understanding of the different methods of control.
Grow safe certified is advantageous though this can be provided. If you love the outdoors and have good attention to detail, then this might be for you.
While experience in pest plant control is preferred, we are open to training the right person who may have had previously worked in similar fields or has been out of the industry for a while .
What you will be doing
Maintaining , Bush and Native revegetation areas within Auckland citys Parks and reserves
Undertaking different methodologies of weed control including mechanical, manual, and chemical
Maintaining vegetation along Bush walking tracks
Operating spray equipment , ATVs and small machinery such as hedge trimmers, and Brush cutters.
Supporting general garden maintenance.
About You
Have previous experience in pest plant management, including Pest plant identification and relevant control methods
Class 1 drivers Licence (Manual )
Grow safe certified or Approved Handlers advantageous though training can be provided
A Full New Zealand driver’s license - Manual
Are committed to delivering consistently high-quality workmanship.
Able to work alone, within small teams or within larger teams
Physically fit and committed to getting the job done.
Flexibility to work additional hours to complete scheduled work.
