M: What is Zeducation and what is your mission?

P: Zeducation is an educational consultancy focused on providing comprehensive training and development programs aimed at upskilling employees and job seekers, particularly among Pasifika and Maori communities. Our mission is to unleash people's greatness through education, enhancing their skills in areas such as leadership, digital literacy, financial literacy, cultural competency and personal development. This mission is pursued through innovative and accessible training programs designed to foster growth, confidence, and career advancement for participants.

M: Why is it important to invest in diverse talent?

P: Investing in Pasifika and Maori talent in New Zealand is a powerful commitment to a brighter future. It enriches workplaces with diverse cultural insights and fuels innovation through unique perspectives. By empowering these communities, businesses not only bridge socio-economic gaps but also foster a sense of belonging and representation. This dedication to diversity enhances the company's reputation and ethical standing, driving both social equity and economic growth. It's a testament to building a more inclusive, dynamic, and prosperous New Zealand for all.

M: How do you cater for an inclusive interview process?

P: At Zeducation, we foster an inclusive interview process through whanaungatanga and manaakitanga. We build meaningful connections by learning about candidates' backgrounds, interests, and hobbies. This personal engagement is followed by a shared meal, which creates a relaxed environment where candidates can feel comfortable and valued. By combining formal interviews with informal, welcoming interactions, we ensure that every individual is respected and given the opportunity to showcase their true selves.

M: How do you foster your talent post employment offer?

P:At Zeducation, we are committed to nurturing talent through continuous development and support. Our internally designed development programs include group workshops focused on teaching and leadership skills, and weekly team training sessions with "CTWYT" where team members lead workshops on various topics like leadership, data analysis, and communication skills. Learning is embedded in our culture, with regular 1-on-1 check-ins, pastoral care support, and encouragement for personal responsibility in development. We also run a podcast featuring expert interviews and practical advice for ongoing growth and personal development.
